Junior and his father, Caesar were surrendered by their owner. Caesar seemed fine but Junior was limping. After being at the pound for three months one of the volunteers spotted a big lump on Junior’s chest. He was so concerned, he rushed Junior to a vet. Once biopsy was taken of his chest as well as his paw, Dr. Hodes ruled the tumor to be benign but insisted on a surgery of both chest and paw. The tumor is not malignant but in time it might get larger and it will have to be removed. We are currently trying to raise money for his operation as well as aftercare. Please, help Junior so that he can live a long healthy life.

Since we are a municipal facility, we cannot afford to provide veterinary care for every animal. Adopters should absolutely take the animal to the vet within 7 days for a check-up. The pound makes no guarantees about the health of the animal you are adopting and cannot be held responsible for any vet bill incurred once an animal is adopted. Any animals adopted from the pound may be returned to us if there is a problem. We will ALWAYS take our animals back into our care. Please never hesitate to contact us with questions or if you need to return a pet.
